OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – November 14, 2007 – As post-tornado rebuilding efforts in Greensburg continue, Kansas Gas Service, a division of ONEOK, Inc. (NYSE:OKE),
encourages local residents to contact the company to establish natural gas service.
Residential and commercial customers may initiate service by contacting customer service at 1-800-794-4780, Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., or by applying online at www.kansasgasservice.com.
Construction lots need to be at final grade and the work area must be cleared before a service line can be installed. When the project is ready for a gas meter installation, a city inspection and air pressure test by a licensed plumber is required for lots inside the city. Meter sets outside city limits require an air pressure test only.
"It's helpful when customers let us know when they expect to build or in what stage of construction they are," explains Conrad Koehler, Kansas Gas Service manager of community relations. "This type of communication helps us to have natural gas service ready when our customers need it."
